Trying to replace motor mount

I'm trying to replace the passenger side motor mount on my inline six cylinder 1984 cj7 since it broke and cut into the oil filter. I unbolted the engine mounts from the chassis, hoisted the engine up a bit, bolted the new mount on the passenger side. I found that the bolt/stud on the mount and the slot in the mounting place on the chassis don't line up. It seems that the engine needs to slide forward about and inch on the passenger side to allow the engine mount to be bolted in, which might have something to do with the old mount breaking. Any suggestions as to how to get the new mount bolted in?

The same exact thing happened when I was putting on my new motor mounts. Lift the motor up and bring it down slow.(makes it alot easier if you have two people, one lowering te motor and one putting in the bolt) Have the other person start the bolt. It's easier if you already have the other moter mount startedso you don get discombobulated. Hope this helps.

Name that axle

Today i got a friend over to help me; we unbolted the transmission from the t-case skid plate and with some manuevering got the engine bolted in place. However, now the transmission mount doesn't line up with the holes in the skid plate. It got dark as we finished tightening the bolts on the engine mounts, so i couldn't get a good look, but it seemded the transmission had been pushed too far forward to try and force it into place. I'm thinking either it's the wrong skid plate (it has a T5 by the way), or the there is something structuraly wrong with the jeep (the guy i bought it from 'wheeled it pretty hard). Tomorrow, i'll check to make sure the skid plate is bolted up correctly, check if the transmission mount is in good shape, check to see if the drivetrain is strait, and then if i don't come accross a better solution or an obvious problem i'll drill new holes in the skid plate for the transmission mount. Got any better solutions?
