Front end noise???

Hey everyone!

Sorry, it's been a long while since I've been here but you know how life goes sometimes!

Anyway, I recently started hearing a type of clunking noise from my front passenger side wheel. I have not had a chance to get out there and get under the truck to check it out so I thought I would ask some pros what I might look for.

I first noticed some clunking when I was hitting potholes or sewers. I could not tell exactly where the sound was coming from. Last night I was coming home from work and I drove slowly over some potholes and noticed the sound is coming from the front passenger wheel. It sounds like metal on metal but like I said, I'm not sure what to look for. I don't think it is shock because I can push down on the fender and the truck does not bounce. Maybe a ball-joint??? I need some advice!

Check to see if the tire lugs are tightened. That's the first place I'd look.

Check the front track bar, make sure the lower and upper mounts are very tight. It's the most common thump.

Shock bushings, trac bar, wheel lugs, wheel bearings.

I'd say wheel bearing.. my Tj does the same thing when I turn left and put weight on the passenger side... I'm waiting for a spare $150 .. before i can do anything about it...
