Transfer Case Question...

NP231 on my 91 YJ...
I was wheelin yesterday and I had to pull a guy out again. In doing so I broke my front shafts U joint on the T case end. When the shaft was floppin around in there it knocked off the linkage that goes from the T-case shifter to the T-case.
It looks like the two ends just pop back in the holes, maybe held with a pin of some kind on the other side. You definately have to force it into the hole.

I was wondering if I can just use the one that popped out again or do these linkage ends go bad so they pop out easier. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

they are hard to get in. I use channel locks to press them together. Good time to lube them up.
No pins.
I would say if it took a floping driveshaft to get them out, they might still be ok to use. Just see how hard they are to get back together.
 
Thanks White, I'll try to pop it back in after work. I know somebody has channel locks around here...
