RE: Need upgrade on current axle gear ratio?

Still getting oil leaks? it looks like from transmission area.
had a mechanic change rear main seal and clutch changed, but
still get leaks?
need help.

RE: Need upgrade on current axle gear ratio?

could it be coming from the oil pan gasket? It could be leaking in the rear....where it's sometimes hard to see/get to.

RE: Re: RE: Re: join date

if it is an inline 6 check the back of the valve cover. I had the same problem and thought is was the rear main. only after changing it by having to remove the header and fuel system to get to it did I realize it was only the back of the valve cover leaking onto the back of the motor and dripping out right between the bell housing and the oil pan. I suggest getting a flash-light and after it has run for a bit inspect the back of the motor from under neath to see if it is coming from the top side rather than down low.

RE: Old Man Emu

i second yj89 - check that valve cover! - i was about to swap out my rear seal when i looked at the v/cover and not only was it loose but some of the bolts had backed out so far that you could see thread... okay so that was my bad - dont usually consider v/cover bolts to be "routine maintenance" tightened them up and no more leak!
