Another fuel problem

im having a fuel problem simalar to allabas 5150, accept the fuel is making it to the fuel pump but not to the carb, i poured some fuel in the carb to see if it would start and it fired right up but it doesent want to feed itself for some reason. i hooked up all my vac lines up last week, if i put a few in the wrong place would that cause this problem?

You may want to check the fuel filter or the fuel pressure regulator if you have one.

ok, fixed that problem, turns out that the brass fitting on the fuel line that goes into the carb was cracked, now i cant get it to idle on its own without the choke being on(i installed a manual choke) Any ideas?
