Flat fenders

I'm planning on flatting out my YJ. I know there are alot of easy ways to do it but this is what I've drawn up so far. Suggestions, comments, the good the bad or the ugly please. 1st pic is what I'll start with (not dimond plated when I do it) then 2nd pic is what I'll cut it to, and the 3rd is the finished project minus some paint and caulk.

Looks good as long as you don't mind doing away with the fender flares. When I cut mine I left a little bit more side to keep the fender flares. Also, if you have access to a welder, you might want to consider running steel tube along the outer edges for strength and a clean look.
 

I didn't realize at first that you were using trailer fenders! That seems like a really good idea. I like how the fenders will stick out farther to eliminate a need for fender flares.
 
Plans are to get them done some time over the holiday season. I'll post some actual pics when I get um. And thanks for all the compliments
