TJ Parking Brake Self Adjusters

When I adjust the parking brake on our '00 TJ ( old school method, adjust the star gear till you can't turn the tire by hand, then back it off 15 points) it is good for about a week. Do any, if not all, of you have the same problem? I back out of the driveway and this should keep them tight with the self adjusters. I actually checked to make sure the star gear was turning in the right direction. Any suggestions?

Rebuild the rear brakes, making sure the self-adjuster is lubed inside and the lever that hits it is adjusted properly. They rarely work as intended from what I've seen.
