trouble code 12

battery input to PCM has been disconnected w/i last 50 key-on's...

ok...

my 1997 TJ 4cyl, 5spd, quit starting a couple weeks ago... not even once in a while...

I can get it started by poppin' the clutch...
--OR--
crossing the solenoid to the starter....

Nothing w/ the key... just clicking from the relays

checking and re-checking... fuses, ground, continuity,
looking for lost or disconnected wires
replaced... starter, solenoid, starter relay, ignition module & ignition coil
tried by-passing the clutch switch
had the viper alarm guys check the alarm

NOTHING!!!

You'll be looking forever if you are trying to find away to get ride of code 12. Code 12 is also known as the "start of codes" code. Don't worry about it, it will always be there.

As for the starting issue.... Take a pair of jumper cables; hook one end to the positive terminal and one to the starter where the large main wire hooks up. Go turn the key and see if that helps. If it does, you have a bad connection and/or main wire to the starter. That is a common problem.

If you just want to get past it all, hook a momentary switch (button or similar) between the battery and the ign terminal on the starter. Turn on the key and use the button as your starter button.
