So, I got my timing light today, hooked it up, adjusted it... spot on.
But, it still sputters and coughs and diesels. I cleaned the carb so it's fine, and my vacuum is steady at 18 Hg. Now the next component is the stock ignition. By the way, it's an 84 258 with a Motorcraft 2100.
Would a bad ignition cause dieseling?
Also, would a bad ignition cause an engine to run poorly until the rpms increase?
Any advise is much appreciated!
