I have installed the tfi upgrade into my 83' CJ5 with thee straight six 4.2L. I also have an MSD 6 and an MSD TFI hiperformance coil. MY idel is great set at stock timing, but in 4th gear I loose power arond 1500 and 2000 RPMS. I also have a little black smoke comming out of the exhaust (meaing that I am running to rich). SHould I retard the timming a little to correct this problem? Any one have suggestions.
