07 Spare Tire

Can I get away with a 35" tire on my stock spare carrier? Or is this too heavy and will pull away eventually?

I've seen them break away too often since the carrier is made of pot metal. Even with the 33's going thru the trails with all the bouncing and vibration, the bracket tends to crack at the mounting flange.

The rear tailgate on these jeeps aren't built to handle the extra wieght either. I ran 33's on an old YJ of mine and it started to bend the tailgate itself. I eventually had to build a swing away carrier for it.

i think im having that problem. i have 33's and my rear door/ tailgate is hard to shut, i have to pick up on it to shut it. where could i get swing away carrier and how much would it be. or how much of a hassle would it be to make one? thanks
