Wiring (what is it)

Found this mass of melted wiring but do not know what it goes to.


That is the throttle body at the bottom of the picture. the wiring comes out of the loom that runs to the injectors.

94 YJ with 2.5L and Auto tans.

Looks like the plug for the IAC motor

It almost looks like a ground cable strap because of that melted metal. Have you traced the wire to see where the other end is connected to?

On 'Black Betty' this connector goes to the pigtail used for the front fender side marker/flasher.

I could not find anything in the area. I was told maybe a light socket. All my side markers and turn signals work, so that could not be it. What is an "IAC motor"??

IAC= Intake air control solenoid/ motor.

Maybe the under hood light then? hard to tell when half of the plug is melted away

On my 1994 YJ i think it plugs into the power steering line off the pump.
