i was thinking on swapping my 2.5l for a 3.0l 5-cylinder turbo diesel, from a mercedes. has anybody done this before? i was thinking of using the stock transmission that came with my jeep but it will involve doing some mods to it, any ideas or thoughts on this swap?

That would be one sweet Jeep... And the power output would probably be a pretty good match to the axles (unlike a bigger diesel) . No idea how you're going to mate it up, though... Id start with a call to Advanced Adapters to see if it's remotely possible. You might push 30-35 MPG out of that Jeep!! Best of luck - John MMMMMMMmmmmmm- DIESEL
