Tube/Pipe Bender

Would like to make some safari doors
Has anyone tryed to use the cheapy benders from harbor freight or similar type benders
I've herd you can pack the tubes with sand close off each end and use a little heat to help make a smooth inside radius

That's the trick. Make sure you do some test runs on the pipe bender adjustments before you build the tube doors. I've never had to use that sand trick in the pipe with a heavy gauge tube, however, the thinner the wall, the more likely it's gonna kink.
