Are the gears the same????????

I have a 1997 and a 2004 wrangler i want to know if the 4.11 gears from my 97 are the same or if thay will work in my 04 yes there both dana 35's my 97 has 4.11
my 04 has 3.73

the pinion length and ring gear will work in either axle but but the 4.10's will not bolt up to the carrier in in your 04.
The carrier size changes right at 3.93 to 4.10.

I have 1 2009 jk auto. running 35 in tires, I'm regearing to 488s and adding a detroit tur trac locker, is this enough gears?

The carrier, yes they will transfer over then.

if you have both sitting there why not swap the housings and all from one to the other no special tools or knowledge required
