Recently swap a automatic for a t5 from a cj I had around they
t he'd up perfect. Only thing I notice was the new transmission happen to be 1/2 smaller in lenght the jeep has a 41/2 lift and the rear drive shaft fell about 1/4 inch short with it fully extended so I installed the screws on the u joint and pretty much tighten it until it mounted . My question is do you think there is to much force pulling on the rear diff doesn't seam to be as smooth as it should any help wil be appreciated. Thanks

i think its going to mess a bearing up or u-joint doing that

if I understand it correctly, your drive shaft was a bit short (when fully extended) so you bolted it up, in the process of tightening it down, you in essance compressed the suspension to get the drive shaft in?

At a minimum, as mentioned, your gonna kill your out put bearings.

also potential issued, cracked T-case housing, sheered output shaft, crappy as heck ride since there will be no rebound, the drive shaft will have the slip shaft pulled apart. D300 are not known for there case strength.

Get a correctly made drive shaft.
