2005 tj pinion bearing

Best option is to replace with a heavier rear end. Cheapest, quickest and easiest is to replace bearing and seal.

I'd go with overhaul rather than possibly picking up a used axle that may have more problems shortly after you go through the trouble of replacing the one in your jeep. Inspect the carrier bearings as well when you pull it out with the differential. 9 out of 10 times , i would replace those bearings too all together with the inner and outer pinion bearing.

Assuming its a dana 35 I would try to find a rubicon 44 if you want to upgrade. If not I would re bearing it. Not sure on how you use it.
