i have not seen them opposed. you mean like one mounts at the driver's side and one at the passenger side and then both in the middle?
 

Dual would only need to be done if u where to have a heavy frount load like a snow plow or a v8 swap other wise its useless on something so light
 
From what Ive read, I agree. Some off road mag years back discussed this once, and as said above only one is needed in all but the most extreme cases (like 2 1/2 ton rockwell axles). They said all those show trucks you see with multiple shocks are only usually using one, the rest have been drilled and drained of their fluid and are just dummy shock for looks.
 
To JPNinPA....like the second pic. The TJ. I like that look of the stabilizers opposed each other rather then stacked, and it really is for looks. I have a garage queen with 7 inches of combined lift. I like the look of the dual but agree that only one is really needed.
 

If you look close at the pic those are from superlift.
