I have had problems with my 1997 TJ jumping out of gear when in 4 wheel drive. I just bought it and it has a 2 inch body lift.

I had that trouble first time ever on the trail. Some nice man climbed under me, twisted a nut, and I was good to go. ;)

The main reason it jumps is the transfercase shifter is connected to the jeeps body and the Tcase is connected to the frame. With enough flex it jumps out of gear. Adjusting helps, but to solve the problem is to look for a T-case shifter relocation unit. Tera flex, advanced adapters JK and many more MFG's make these.

Thank you I will look into the relocation kit. At first I thought I was hitting it with my leg but then realized that was not the case. I am up here in Wyoming and you know what it's like here.
