Wondering if a hard top for a YJ would fit on a 97 TJ?

I believe '97 thru '06 hardtops will fit your '97 TJ. '97 thru '03 hardtops will have side vents behind the side windows because these year models didn't have vented tailgates. '03 thru '06 hardtops don't have the side vents as those models have vented tailgates. I have a '98 hardtop I found on CL on my '05 TJ and it works fine. So, I'm double-vented but seems to have no effect or A/C or heat.
