I just bought a 1975 CJ5 and the brake lights aren't working, the running lights an turn signals are working, It appears to have a stoplight switch off of a 76 CJ I was just wondering if that is compatible with my jeep

and the metal under the mounting bolts is clean? I don't think the switch is different but you can google to see which one. has it always not worked since you have had it or just recently started

They are different, but would think they operate the same.

ACDELCO OE REPLACEMENT BRAKE LIGHT

1608 × 1116 - quadratec.com

first one is for a 76, second one is for 66 and up depending, and third should be the one you need. The second one work off line pressure, you can follow your brake lines and see if you find one like, if so you will need that one.
