Help!!!!!

I have a 89 jeep wrangler. It is the 4.2 inline 6, it's a carb not fuel injected. And 3 speed.

THE PROBLEM.
It was raining very hard and is very cold. I'm driving down the road and it looses power Rome want go up want speed up. The I turn it off turn it back on after sitting a few. I'm driving up the road a few feet and starts shuddering cuts off.

What at could this be.....

Hi ! Did you check the distributor cap and the caps leeds to spark plugs? It may have taken some water...and you might have some serious misfire over there.. Take care !

A three spd in a wrangler???? That's a cj transmission probably, your engine may be cj also. I had a 4cyl that would die in the rain, was a cracked distributor cap. This could be the coil going bad as well. The coil will get hot and shut the jeep down, usually starts back up after a few minutes of cool down.

Sounds like could be a fuel issue
