4x4 troubles

I have a 95 wrangler. I just had the axel seals and axel u-joints replaced. I went to my farm yesterday and in a muddy situation put it in 4x4. About every 15-20 seconds I hear a loud clunk and my Jeep will jerk to the right. Be fine for a few seconds then do it again. My wife says she can feel it in the passenger floorboard when it pops. The noice is definitely coming from the front end Any suggestions on what it could be?

So your tires were able to spin given it was mud? Or was the popping on dry pavement?

I'd definitely verify it is firmly in 4x4 and not slipping out from linkages...
The front isn't a locker or welded locked?
I'd say check u joints but you just did them
Pinion angle ok?driveshaft binding?
