Problems with my old cj 7

Hi every mechanical specialist!

I'm sorry for my poor english, I come from Quebec and my native langauge is french. Here's the point: I own a 1980 CJ 7 and i have a bizare problems with it. After ridding it for, maybe 45 minutes, he dosn't idle anymore (When i stop to a red ligth he hang. I have to push the gaz to maximum to start). I replace everything i thaugh would be helpfull butt nothing change. Here is the list of wath I Did:

1- I changed the spark plug and the spark

2- I changed the Rotor and Cap

3- I changed the fuel pump and filter

4- I cleaned my carburator and the choke seem's to work fine







Rigth now I dont know where to investigate any idea would be greatly apreciate.

P.S: I've heard about the Nutter's bypass but it dosen't applie to my jeep since he dosen't have an emission control system. [addsig]

Thank's a lot, but i have already done that whit no result. It's strange because the problem i have is the same as the one describe in the link you sended to me. But the problem is still there.

Well did you try justa straight rebuild of your carb it could easily be the front gas line fitting into your carb got knock by something or vibrated loose causing the viton needle to seat improperly and your float level to be wrong. I would recommended rebuilding it all together, or replace if you have the money. [addsig]
