Loose harmonic balancer
Have a '96 XJ where the harmonic balancer just got off kilter enough that it blew the serp belt off track. I thought it was my serp belt that's been making noise all this time but I guess it's been the balancer. It's come loose and migrated forward some so that the main fan blade nicks it now.
First time doing this job. Any advice on how to go about this and what quality replacement part should I look for?
Also, any advice about replacing the front main seal? I'd like to get mine done while I'm in there.Last edited by bradleyheathhays; 12-01-2020 at 12:48 AM.

Re: Loose harmonic balancer
Never had to replace one. Id imagine going with a name brand would be best. There is a gear puller for this.
