2015 Wrangler passenger door latch issues

Hi all,

I have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler 2-door with an issue on the passenger door latch. The windows and doors are manual, not electric/motor driven. The passenger door can be opened from the inside, not problem. But, the outside door knob, when depressed, does nothing. This happened a few years ago after a deer ran into the passenger side below the door... there is a tiny dent just below the door and nothing more.

A mechanic told me that I need an latch actuator, but that makes no sense as there are no electric locks or windows.

Anyone else have this issue and what was the solution?

Thanks in advance,

Mishell

Not sure on this particular vehicle but typically there are plastic connections that attach the handles and buttons to the actual latch assembly. Perhaps one of those has broken or fallen out of its attachment location.

^^7502yuma^^ agree ^^

There is an actuator rod that moves the latch from the outer door handle. This is held in by a plastic clip. This clip often breaks. Or sometines the rod bends.
