Steering issue
I recently bought a 76 CJ5. There is no play in the steering, but there is no resistance when the steering wheel is turned. It is like jeep is on a sheet of ice. Any idea's of what problem could be. Jeep is excellent otherwise. The Jeep is not lifted but does have oversized tires.

Re: Steering issue
Are you saying that the Jeep turns too easy?
Do you know if it has the original, or an upgraded power steering pump?

Re: Steering issue
This is a bit old. But id check caster . Also check camber to tire height and width.
Toe is important but if you have less than 4 -5 deg caster the scrub is under the center of the tire providing little resistance and forces to return to zero.
