2010 transfer case cable bushing

So my transfer case bushing keeps popping off or breaking when I need it most and I’m tired of fixing it even though it only takes like 3 minutes to do it. Does anyone know of metal ones I can use?

I cant imagine this happening often unless there is an issue.
Improper material
Loose rattling cable wearing the bushing
Constant strain on the part from cable adjust or something laying on the shifter
Hard shift from shifter
Dirty cable causing forcing of shift putting more wear on the bushing..


I recall someone 3d printing them. Perhaps there is a better material??

Is the bushing completely on? I had to replace the ones on both sides of my transfer case cable. On the one I had to replace twice I believe it wore out because it wasn't completely seated. I agree it would be nice if they were made of brass or some more durable material.
