Motor & Trans swap= T Case swap?

I will be putting an sye on my t case next month when I do my lift. I may drop a V8 in my YJ in the future (who knows when) and I was wondering if I can use the same T Case after the engine and trans swap.

There are adapters out there for sale that can adapt other trannies to your NP231 transfer case, so it's fairly easy to reuse. The NP231 is okay for v8 power as well.

the 231 is tough enough... but you may want to upgrade the ax-15... which should hold power for a while.. but if you are upgrading the motor, the transmission for it would probably be comparable to the price of the adapter anyway

Thanks guys, thats good to know. I didn't really want to put the SYE on and then have to do it all over again when I put a new engine in. I'm always thinking of putting a V8 in there even though I won't be anytime soon... just thinking ahead and I want all the mods to match!
