wiring for 83 cj7

Hi, I just changed out the carter carb. on my 83 cj7 w/ the weber k551.
Can I remove the ECM and all the associated wiring?
Then the next ? is How or is it best to call Painless?

Axle probs YJ Please help

I have a stock 84 CJ7 with the Weber, the Nutter bypass and the TFI upgrade. I have removed the ECM and its wiring harness (only had to cut 1 wire) and have eliminated all vacuum except to the vacuum advance - no emissions, pulse air, etc. Got tired of not being able to work on it. Now the engine compartment is clean and sensible. I have kept all of my parts that have been removed and could replace them if necessary. My point is that it can be done and you don't need a new harness.

I would highly recommend the Nutter bypass and the TFI upgrade since you have moved to t he Weber. Take advantage of your new carb.

I found the nutter byepass and got rid of the ECM.

Worked great and alot cleaner.

Good to hear. Now do the TFI Upgrade and you'll gain power and RPMs. Nothing to it.
