Complete Axle Swap

A friend and I want to swap complete axles because he's trading his Jeep in for another. He's running a 2000-TJ, Dana 30/35, 4.88's, open and I have a 98-TJ, Dana 30/35, 4.11's, open. How hard will this swap be and how long should/will it take? Also is there anything we need to buy for this? Thanx for any help.

Not too hard, just unbolt, swap and bolt back in.

What tires and engine is he running to have 4:88's?
I am assuming you both have 4 bangers, (4:11 in a D35) and has larger tires, 33's? Are you conna be able to accomidate the gearing he has?
Another option is, if you have the knowledge on how to set up the gears, just swap Ring and Pinion.

About an hour for each axle, and don't forget to bleed the brakes. Don't remove the brake line from the front calipers, just wire the calipers up and out of the way during the swap.

Don't even think about swapping R&P's, that's the long hard route to take

Yes, ring and pinions, sorry. Not worth the money and trouble of swapping those when you have the option of swapping the entire axle.
