4.0l high output in a 89 sport??

I can get a 4.0l high output motor for really cheap, What I need to know is what do need to change to put this motor in my 89 4.0? The motor came out of an 90's Jeep. Do I need the computer for the 90's Jeep or will the engine run with the existing computer my 89? Thanks

If the H.O. motor was from '91 - '93 and you have an '89 the wiring should all be basically exactly the same. Drop in the H.O. plug in the old 4.0 harness but use an H.O. ECU.

check the sensors and just transfer all the parts(sensors ect) to yours,should match up very close.The ho will only havw stuff like the cam,ods,crank,head,ports,ect that are different bt everything else should bolt up
