i took the diff cover off and there are absolutley no metal shavings. so its probably the pinion bearing whining and getting the fluid hot right? i am going to try and loosen the pinion nut just a hair and change fluid agian

mine has a slight wine. dont really remember it doing that before i replaced the pinion seal. possible i didnt get the preload right but i marked it and lined it up. that may be whats causing it to get hot and puke fluid. either way i think im going to put another vent in. cant hurt right?

how fast do you drive it jfra? mine seems to only do it at interstate speeds. 70-80. mine has 4.10s and a super 35. how hard./easy is it to adjust rear pinion. im not sure if mine is or not?

utah or anyone with ARBs, is your rear diff vented more than stock? more vents or bigger hole? ARB told me it needs to be but it only pukes fluid when i drive interstate speeds so i havnt done it just yet.

i agree with xt and i dont. i think you have to be legal in the state your driving in on some things but not sure if all apply. i think only traffic laws apply and not vehicle registration ones. for instance i live in TN and have no smog laws. If I were just visiting CA i dont think they...

pretty sure i solved my own problem. iv been doing some research read on another jeep forum and called arb. arbs with aftermarket gears require more venting either bigger hole or multiple vents, just in case someone else runs into this problem.

anyone have an idea? the air leak i can live with for now but i would like to get the diff problem fixed. iv got a trip planned to windrock this weekend!

if you have the money i recomend a long arm lift! i dont know if all kits ride as good as mine but this thing is really easy to drive. i have a 6" fabtech. i drive it every day 40 or 50 miles to work and back on a two lane curvy highway with the swaybar disconnected!

i put a pinion seal in sat. because it started leaking really bad. i didnt cut anything, was i supposed to? could the bearing have went bad to cause the leak in the first place? can i do that or does it have to be pressed in/out? as for the air leak, i know for sure the part in the picture is...

no i filled it up until it started coming out of the drain hole. could it have had fluid stuck in the tube?

alright thanks. now i have another problem. has anyone ever had gear fluid come out of their vent tube. mine did today after an hour drive at about 70. i just put a new pinion seal in it sat evening. now the gear fluid poured out of my vent tube and all over my gas tank. whats the deal?

alright, mine kicks on once when i first turn it on and prob every few min if i stay locked, so i probably got an air leak somewhere? any easy ways to track it down besides spraying everything with soapy water? ie. first places to look? i also have the tire inflation kit where you can just hook...
