I'm running with no muffler now because of my long arm kit and it doesn't sound too obnoxious, but it's starting to get a little annoying. I still have the CAT and I just had it smogged last month with no problems. Before the long arm kit I a Borla cat-back exhaust + Borla headers on a 4.0...
I finally got it all mounted and ran the Rubicon this weekend. It worked great. My SWR reading was 1.5 and that was with no adjustment on the antennae. I took the meter with me with plans to make adjustments on the trail, but never got around to it. The only problem I had was when the ARB...
It was an external. It came with the Uniden 510 I won on this site a few years ago. Is one more accurate then the other (he asked afraid of the responses sure to come) ?
I got everything mounted late last night and hooked up the SWR. Without any tuning I got 1.5 on the meter set to channel 20. I'm going to do a little fine tuning tonight and see what I can come up with. The weather channel worked fine and I heard conversations from the highway a few miles...
Yup. Also, it helps if it's warmed up too. Makes the rubber a little more pliable and it also helps retain it's shape when you put it all back together. There's a 9/16" nut on the inside once you get the plastic off.
Nope....Just a 35".
Yeah, I non-op'd it last year after I broke everything. Didn't figure I needed to pay a full registration if I wasn't driving it. I just got the notice in the mail last week to renew it, but I have to finish the exhaust before I can smog it.
I've been doing a lot of work to get it back on the road since I broke the control arms last year. So......In the past 2 months I've installed a Rock Krawler 5.5" X-Factor long arm upgrade, I finally installed my Cobra 75 CB (antenna will be mounted this weekend), I converted my dome light to...
And the antenna cable is exactly the kind you said not to get......Though it was free when I got the radio so I'll use it for now and upgrade later. I've only had this CB sitting in my garage for about 8yrs....every year I say "this is the year I finally mount my radio and stop using handhelds!"
I have diamond plate corners, however, they were painted before I riveted them to the Jeep and I ran a bead of silicone around the edges and across the interior of the corner to protect against rusting. I'm not sure that corner will be a good ground point for anything.
If all else fails I...
Thanks for the info! I would've used the "behind the light" mounting bracket if I still had my lights. I've got 4" LED's now. The grounding strap is the conclusion I came up with too. Thanks again!
