You might want to try an impact driver to get the screws out. I do this all the time at work when those screws are not cooperating. Don't worry about putting them back in when you are done.

Also there is a bushing inside the tail cone of the t-case as that wears out it can cause the seal to leak because the slip yoke is moving more than it should.
