Terry, If you fixed the wiring without replacing the sensor, chances are you blow the heater element of the sensor itself. Now the the wiring is repaired, I'd replace the sensor i'd throw an OEM sensor in it.

Sounds like a security issue to me... might try resetting the KAM (keep alive memory). Remove both battery cables and touch them together for about 10 seconds to discharge residual voltage and the KAM should be reset. Or, with a scan tool check the pids for the SKIM and SKREEM modules (security...

Actually, it has had very little done to it. Just regular maint. (oil changes and such), water pump, t-stat, fuel pump. That's about it.

Sounds like your blend doors are not operating correctly. Possibly a vacuum leak somewhere.
