    carb questions

The Motorcraft 2100 (I think that's the number IIRC) will fit on the 4.2L intake as will the H 5200. I don't think we're talking about anything larger than what physically fits the carb plate.

    carb questions

Don't know where you're located but FN Jeep in Colo Springs will most likely have either a single or double bbl carter carb for you. They have a very extensive yard and have rebuilt carbs for sale. I would do what buckaroo did and swap out for either a holley, weber or motorcraft. They would...

Dana 30 + Dana 35 axles from YJ

I will have my stock D30 and D35 axle assemblies available in about a week for cheap sale. Both front and rear are open with 4.56" gears. The front will need a new R & P due to some small chips in the teeth. The rear is the non-c clip version from an earlier YJ. I also have spare shafts for it...

Spark Plugs and etc for a 4.2L

I use plain old Champion copper plugs or "truck plugs" and have had the best luck. I've used the autolite platinum plugs before and haven't noticed any difference whatsoever. If you do decide to go with the TFI upgrade, you can widen the gap to .045" or there abouts and you will see a slight...

    YJ Trans: BA10-Peugeot + T case

Up for sale is a early YJ/XJ transmission with 21 spline tcase. This is a rebuilt trans with updated (slightly stronger) parts. This was in my Jeep for about 1 year before I did the AX-15 swap. It shifts very smooth and doesn't pop out of gear as Peugeots are notorious for. I just need to get...

    Thermostat Question

If you wanted the man. heater hooked up, you need to run it up to a toggle switch in the cab so that you can turn it on/off manually. Like I said, mine isn't hooked up and I haven't had any problems other than it running a little rough when it's first started. It's not that critical that it be...

    Thermostat Question

    1. Being that you live in an area that gets pretty cold like me (Denver) it would be advisable to reconnect your manifold heater. This can be done a couple of ways but the easiest would be to run a 12v source to a switch and heater so you can turn it on & off manually. Without the heater...

    TFI ignition upgrade

The coil listed should be good for any GM 2.8/4.3 engine. I currently have the upgrade installed on my 4.2L w/ Howell setup and have had no problems.

    Front End Noise

I agree. Replacing just one gear is bad practice. The chances for a grenaded diff goes up greatly with some worn/some new gears. Never cut corners on axles or brakes is what I was taught many years ago.

    yj/tj body conversion

It would be monumentally difficult and not the smartest conversion. For the money, you could buy another used YJ or TJ. YJDave: Sweet Jeep!

    Never ending!

15 year old Jeep + rain + salt air = rubber & electrical problems. I'm thinking that just about every owner of an earlier model Jeep has had to deal with this at one time or another.

    Thermostat Question

X2 from SH. The fluctuation (especially on a early YJ) is perfectly normal. Mine will go from 180 to 200* depending on the engine demands. Noticing that you're in PA, I would say 180* or even a 195* would be just fine. You'll get heat in the cab a little quicker w/ a 160* but you're engine...

    4wd stuck

X2 on vac motor/lines. It's VERY common for the diaphram on the shift motor to crap out. If you've got a little money, go for the posi lock upgrade and be done with it. It's a fairly easy upgrade and you'll never have to worry about 4wd shifting again!
