    Winch Wishing...

I'm running a used warn xd900i that I picked up for $500 off cl. I would be tempted to try out one of the smittybuilt 9500 lbs that can be had for about $300-400 new

    1994 4.0L HO Tuning

The only true cure for your affliction would be a v8 swap.... everything else will be dumping lots of money for minor return.

    A little id help?

Looks more like early range rover parts.... defender 90? Or Toyota FJ?

    Max Lift and Tires

Assuming you're running a 4.0L with 3.07 gears anything larger than 33's would totally suck without regearing... Even with 33's you're pretty close to making 5th gear useless...

    jeep exhaust poping

Sorry to hear about your loss... That post is hard to follow with no punctuation.... I think the "circle gasket" is the PVC valve? The hesitating is usually a fuel/air issue either from the carb or the carb not getting supplied enough of one or the other.... The popping could be anyone of a...

    winching

Something like this would have sounded much more entertaining..... "There I was deep in the bush (good god I hope it's not so... more into the barren desert).... Then I dropped her off at her parent's front door... And while attempting to make the great getway... I slipped from the...

    Stupid Noob Question #2

I think my origional '95 owners manual indicates that the footman loops on either side of the front seat are for strapping down the windshield support bar when you drive around with the windshield folded down.... as we always do.....

    Shock Size Selection

So, with that the best option is to buy the shocks that are the longest you can fit that still won't bottom out while under full compression. Full compression should be limited by a bumpstop that is fabricated to limit compression just prior to wheel/body contact or binding of other components...

    Shock Size Selection

I'm looking at a new set of shocks for my YJ with SOA and 3.5" superlift softride springs and 37's. I've read alot of posts about selecting shock size based on droop. Why not get the longest shocks you can fit under the rig under full compression? That seems like it would be the limiting...

    Yj vs Tj

I've had an '87 YJ and 2 '95 YJs.... The last one I bought a month ago for $4500 with hard top/doors, 4.0L, 5 speed, a good SOA, 35x12.5-15 M/Ts. Could add another $3500 in mods and still keep it under $8k. I've wheeled with plenty of TJ owners and the rig with the best driver skill and...

    Tire Size?

I would plan on 31x12.5-15 on 15x10 rims.... have them mounted and see how they look.

    Need Suggestions, Please

I would run 31x12.5-15 BFG M/Ts (even better would be a set of super swamper ssr) on 15x10 rims to provide plenty of floatation (surface area) without airing down. Modify your bumpstops to ensure no unintentional damage from rubbing. Next step would be locking up the rear then front end. Why...

    should I upgrade these axles?

Research high steer setups and factor that investment in with the rest of your axle mods. After facing a similar choice I opted to invest the ring/pinion, locker, and highsteer expense in a HP Dana 44 setup instead of the questionable HP Dana 30.

    wheels and tires help?? choices

I've run Super Swampers, Yokahamas, BFG M/Ts, BFG A/Ts, Toyo M/Ts. My favorites have been the Super Swamper SSRs best all around on and offroad. If you're not going with a tire taller then 33's I've had good luck with running 33x12.5-15 tires on 15x10 rims. I like the style of ultra rims you...

I think you can get away with an inch of body lift... any more looks terrible unless you do alot of cosmetic work

4 cylinder to 6 cylinder swap

Output is only one factor... the 2.5l is significantly lighter in weight while the 4.0l is comperable to a custom SBC or Ford. I have always had good luck with the reliability of the 4.0l. I have toyed with the idea of doing a 302/351 swap though.

    Super Swamper Frenzy

1040683 I have Yokahamas on before. I wasn't impressed at all. Wore quickly then had to get rid of them because they dry rotted out after only 3 years. I've had SSR's since then and have been very impressed... till last week then I was on the freeway and the tread separated off of one...

    YJ Coil Suspension Convertion

1040684 I'm thinking about replacing my 4" of leaf spring lift with a 5" full coil convertion to run 35's. I know procomp makes one, Warn had one, and I believe there are a few others out there... Anyone have any experiences with them?[addsig]
