Two things guys, When I did my spring over and welded new perches on I set the pitch too much. Meaning the yolk points right at the driveshaft and the upper balljoint is ahead of the lower one which is supposedly not good. It drives fine but concede I need to fix this. Think shims will do it...

On 4WD the Procomp alloy 15x8 has 3.75" backspacing but they also mention an offset of-19mm. What's that???

Man, how do you run 2:73 with those tires? I guess with a 360 it doesn't matter. Yeah I'd like to tuck them in 1.5-2" I've got 15x10 eagles. Wonder if 15x8's would do it but not sure if they'll hold a 35x12.50??? thanks, Tom

I'm leaning that way but wonder if the 258 has enough power to turn 35's and get me up to highway speed (70 mph) with 4:56 gearing? Maybe the T5 will be enough help? So if I went with a 304 or 4.0 the cross member has to be moved??? Thanks, Tom

So I've painted and lifed my 84. I went SOA on YJ springs and run 35's and regeared to 4:56. Engine is a 258 transmission a T4 with Dana 300. Engines tired and I'm curious what you guys recommend I do. I was thinking of either rebuilding my 258 or buying one already rebuilt from 4wd or...

That's what I meant... what case or set doesn't rattle. Tell me about this one with straps... its just a suitcase to put your stuff in? What do you do about sockets? I have a craftsmen set with drawers that are molded to hold sockets but they rattle constantly. Thanks, Tom

Most body lift you want is 0". It looks retarded.

They make a transfer case lowering kit for most Jeeps that would probably do the trick. Really though with a four inch lift you should spend the money on a CV driveshaft. Tom Woods are the best but expensive. I think they are about $300.

Any one know the correct angle between the pinion yolk and driveshaft? I went SOA and when doing so pitched the rears too far up I think. With the CV shaft the drive shaft comes straight at the pinon yolk, there's no angle. I heard somewhere it should be about 3-5 degrees. Thanks, Tom

cool thanks. I hooked my sway bar back up and greased the fittings on shackle hangers. That made a big difference. Had to shorten the sway bar links by half as they were too long and hitting my my brake line causing it to snap. Lost my breaks twice!

Loosened up shackles a bit but not too much of a difference. Shocks are Skyjacker Hydro 7000.... are they known to be stiff?? Thanks, Tom

One last thing about the steering.... think I pitched the front axle too much. There's no bend at all where the drive shaft meets the pinnon yolk. Think a 3 degree shim will fix that?? Probably why I have bump steer??? Thanks again, Tom

So here attached is my old gray Jeep I built in college and sold shortly after. With my jeep now I tried to lift it exactly the same way because I was so impressed with the gray Jeeps ride. Really different though.
