Jps, I saw a wedding band on one of the sites that was a bogger, would never tattoo one on my body but I wouldn't mind the wedding band. The only brand name tattoo I have is Harley Davidson. I will not be getting rid of it any time soon so that in my opinion was not a bad choice.

I am not 100% certain but it almost sounds like lifter tap based on your description. I believe keep used solid lifters which would behave in the manner you described. Don't take me for certain, as it has been forever since I worked on a newer model motor.

Waterpumps are not that hard to replace

I am by no means an expert on jeep motors, but I have never heard of a block drain plug for coolant. There are freeze plugs, but they don't need replacing unless you rebuild or one blows out.

If the CEL is on, get the code, that may provide a starting point for your troubleshooting.

Well it has been a while since an update, got the motor out and the son and I started the tear down. It all looked good until the heads came off! :(Found 3 broke pistons.:x What really scares me is that there were NO metal shavings/bits/pieces in the pan.:shock:The below pics show the pistons...

Glad you got it fixed, yes a very loose plug will allow blow by on the exhaust stroke and will also suck air past on the intake stroke.

The wobble could come from the loose axle shafts especially If a bearing is going. If you have the mechanical ability I would pull and inspect the shafts, seals, bearings etc. As the son says I would replace the ring and pinion at your earliest convenience. If you have no plans on wheeling...
