Ghost face here, making another spontaneous appearance

Snitty here. Not sure that too many of you from these days will know me, or would still remember me. I see a few familiar names around here and there. I was here back when the website opened, way back when computers were pedal powered by feet, under the desk. A friend and myself did the...

    Sni--Who????

Hey guys... I'm gonna assume over half of you have no idea who I am, but the old Jeepz vets should be able to recognize this name. I was a rather regular visitor here back a few years ago, for a while. You older crowd, what's happened in the time since then and now? I really wish I would...

    Hey guys, I'm still alive

I haven't been around here in a while. I'm just letting everyone know I'm still alive. For those of you who have joined since my last visit, I welcome you and I hope you're enjoying it here. I just posted a thread in the wanted section. I snapped my rear passenger main leaf in an offroading...

I need stock or 1-2" lift YJ leaf springs

I snapped a main leaf earlier this year and I'm in need of replacing either that or all of my leaf packs.

Looks like I'll be searching the market

A few years back, I did my SOA... Since then, I have not put much effort into upgrading anything until I had to time and money to completely rebuild the YJ. It has worked fine and dandy since then, and has given me no (not many, rather) reason(s) to think I had to upgrade anything. I know it...

    Parting out a 95 ZJ

This past week, a good friend rolled his 95 5.2l ZJ. The only damage it took was in the upper rear body. Everything mechanical is still in great condition. He is keeping all of his aftermarket parts, the transfer case (converted to a 242 two years ago), and driveshafts. I believe everything...

    Hey hey guys....

Just saying yo. I haven't been around here much or at all. I need to find some more time to stop by here more often. I think I'll do just that. I just skimmed the past few weeks worth of threads and realized what I've been missing. I've been working like a monster. And when I'm home, I...

    Steering options

I plan on rebuilding the Jeep this year. When I do, I want to do the steering right. What are my options as far as modding the dana 30 for crossover or high steering? This is one area I've never really put any research into. New knuckles? Any kits out there? Just install a straight axle...

Sorry for the absence... here's something new

I've been very busy with work lately, reviving a victorian home for a friend. Progress is coming along great but my body is starting to tell me to calm down. I haven't been on this computer nearly as much as I was before. I'll be back around more soon. I figured I should let you guys know...

    Started my write-up

I stayed up most of the night starting my 249/242 swap write-up. It is taking a lot longer than I thought it would. I originally planned on slopping something together quickly. After getting into it, I developed some organization and wanted to stick to a more formal and descriptive article...

    Brake line flaring

I'm replacing all of the brakelines on the jeep. It's not something I've done so much of. I'm wondering if I HAVE TO use a double flare. I don't really want to pay for a double flare tool if this is the only time I'm going to use it. I could rent the one from autozone, but its all damaged up...

    Brake hoses on the way

After a year of using home rigged extended hoses up front, I finally ordered some stainless braided ones from the Zone yesterday. For the past year, I have been running with lines that I extended with compression fittings and 3/8" line to extend the hard line of the front hoses. I am going to...

    249/242 swap

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: mandatory reading I started a 249 to 242 swap today. I guess I didn't look into things enough and was unaware that you must completely disassemble both transfercases to properly do the swap. I should finish tomorrow. I should get my cam out and take some pics. I'm havin...

    Road trip yesterday

A friend called me 2 nights ago to see if I wanted to take a trip to Pittsburgh with him. I accepted. He was going there to look at and hopefully pick up a ZJ that he was looking at on ebay. We got there and it wasn't quite what it claimed to be in the auction. It had enough small problems...

    Parking brake cables

My rear parking brake cables are seized up pretty bad. I definitely need new ones. My local parts stores dont have them in and might not be able to get them. Are there any retrofit cables or something off anything else that anyone knows of that would work? I need this done to get inspected.

    Great article by Ben Stein

RE: Trip to Pecos-- Muddin For many years Ben Stein has written a biweekly column called "Monday Night At Morton's." (Morton's is a famous chain of Steakhouses known to be frequented by movie stars and famous people from around the globe.) Now, Ben is terminating the column to move on to other...

    Body work questions
