    EGR Block off plate

Converted my 258 to a Weber and the EGR is non active. I think it's causing a vaccum leak as my Jeep whistles loudy mostly during deacceleration. Is there any place to buy a block off plate or do I have to fabricate one from scratch? Think i'm going to replace my intake and exhaust gaskets...

    CJ7 Hitch

Any recommendation for a class III hitch for the back of my CJ7? I was going to do a Smittybilt bumper/tire carrier but think I'm going to just get a class III and get a tire carrier that would just plug into it. That should hold a 35 I hope??? Looking for the hitch that is easiest to...

    CJ7 Seats

I've gone out of my way to keep my Jeep original looking... except for the SOA and 35" mud terrains of course... but now I have a problem. One of my seat frames is toast so not sure if I should buy a good used seat and have all of them redone by a trim shop to original nutmeg colors or if I...

    CJ7 Interior questions

Whats the plastic vent looking piece that mount to the bottom of the dash in my 84 cj7? It's right next to the ash tray. It's not a vent. Guessing its just there to fold a wallet or something? Also I replaced the carpet and wondered if any one has any tricks to get it to stick on the sides of...

    Steering column @ box play

So I had my front rear pitched down to where it should be, had an alignment and put in a borgeson steering shaft. Jeep drives even better than it did but I notice a faint vibration in the wheel now when I hit a bump. I had replaced ball joints and tie rods so I know its not that... looking...

Is it my clutch of my transmision???

So when I shift from 2nd to 3rd I'm almost always grinding unless I really take my time let the Jeep idle down and then shift. Happens going 1st to 2nd sometime as well as almost always downshifting. Is it my clutch of transmision??? Think of putting in a centerforce II, any thoughts on that...

Front axle pitch and correcting speedometer with 35" tires

Two things guys, When I did my spring over and welded new perches on I set the pitch too much. Meaning the yolk points right at the driveshaft and the upper balljoint is ahead of the lower one which is supposedly not good. It drives fine but concede I need to fix this. Think shims will do it...

    Narrow trac vs Wide trac

Rebuilding my CJ7 wide track and realizing I really prefer the look of the narrow track CJ's. I know, their not as stable but I only putt around town anyway. So what is the best way to get that look? I have a lot of $ in my existing axles with gears, locker, one piece, ball joints etc. Can I...

    CJ7 Drivetrain Swap

So I've painted and lifed my 84. I went SOA on YJ springs and run 35's and regeared to 4:56. Engine is a 258 transmission a T4 with Dana 300. Engines tired and I'm curious what you guys recommend I do. I was thinking of either rebuilding my 258 or buying one already rebuilt from 4wd or...

    Best Mechanics tool set

Anyone know of a good mechanics set that doesn't make a lot of noise every time you hit a bump? I'm looking for one to slide under my back seat in my CJ. Thanks, Tom

    Driveshaft angle

Any one know the correct angle between the pinion yolk and driveshaft? I went SOA and when doing so pitched the rears too far up I think. With the CV shaft the drive shaft comes straight at the pinon yolk, there's no angle. I heard somewhere it should be about 3-5 degrees. Thanks, Tom

SOA done but man it rides rough...

I did an SOA on my 84 CJ7. I used new 6 leaf wrangler springs front and rear and new shocks. Also new steering stabilizer up front. It rides like a tank. I did this 10 yrs ago the same way and I recall it being much smoother ride. Any thoughts as to why that would be? Maybe I'm just older...

    Brake line blow out... twice!

Guys I had two Edelbrock extended front brake lines completely snap on me. Both broke in the same spot, just below the upper nut. These where put on carefully and not twisted weakening the metal. They are also plenty long enough when turning the tires fully in either direction. What could...

    CJ& Fuel lines

I bought an 84CJ7 and the previous owner replaced the fuel tank, sending unit and lines. He used 5/16 for mostly everything he replaced. I replaced the return line with stainless from 4WD because rubber was used past the catalytic converter. Noticed the return was 1/4" and looking at inlets...

    CJ7 Motorcraft carb

My new Cj has a motorcraft and it idles good but I don't think the power is even close to a weber. Jeep also sputters a bit when you shut it off and then once its done that its difficult to start it. Anyone know how to fix that? Thanks, Tom

    Front Dana 44 in a CJ7

Any one here done this yet. From what I've read the Wagoneer 44 in the late 70's narrow tracks is the way to go. Long side just needs to be shortened by 4".
