93, pulling transmission

I have a 93 Grand cherokee 4.0. When dropping the transmission do I have to remove the exhaust. Its tight but it appears that if I can pull the transmission far einough back it will clear. Thanks for any help.

You should be able to remove the transmission assembly without removing the exaust. It will be a tight squeeze..

I was able to do it in my regular Cherokee. It took two jack stands and 2 people. It worked but it definitely is a tight squeeze.

i just pulled my transmission on my 89 xj. i pulled the exhaust made it a little easier. but i have a borla cat 4ward. which makes it really easy to take off the exhaust ( one pipe clamp and its off at the header)
