CJ5 fuel tank

Does anyone know how to tell what size gas tank I have. I pulled mine out of my CJ and have the demensions on hand, but they do not match up to anything i've found on the web. I'm trying to order a new sending unit and the staps for it, and am trying to figure out what tank I have. I've never put any gas in it other then out of a 5 gallon can, so couldn't tell you based on how much gas i've put it.


The demensions are: 24 x 16.5 x 10 inches tall. Based on pictures i think it's 15 gallon, but the demensions online don't compare. And Quadratech doesn't post demensions. Their 15 gallon sending unit is not curved, and mine is. There's all differences between sites. Basically I'm wondering where i go to get the right sending unit and mounting center strap.

What other size could it be? If all else fails, do a little math... Calculate the rough volume of the tank based on outer dimensions. You should be able to come up with a good enough estimate to tell between two different sized tanks.
