Computer probs

I had both my desktop and laptop melt down over the past couple months. A friend of mine helped me convert my mom's old computer to Linux (SUSE) but I'm running an older version of Firefox that doesn't like multiple tabs and keeps locking up when I come here or some other sites.
I've been looking for tutorials on how to update to Firefox 6.0 (did the download) but don't know how to get it to open now.

I know it's not Jeep related, but it's what's keeping me away from the boards here and many places else that the lockup occurs.

try uninstalling firefox and using IE to download the latest firefox.

It has always been said that internet explorer is the best web program to download other ones.

can you run silverfox or one of the other linux / ubuntu based browsers

I'd suggest running a more user friendly version of linux, like ubuntu. It's really come a long way. You can even run what's called a LiveCD, where you boot to a CD and run from there, making no changes to your computer at all, perfect for taking a new version for a test drive.
