Finally some summer weather

Cheap mirrors, open air and finally some summer weather

It was finally nice enough to put the half doors on and try out my idea for the outside mirrors. I picked up a pair of basic mirrors from Auto Zone, made brackets by flattening the ends of 3/4" conduit. I put a conduit clamp in the middle to allow for angle adjustments and painted them with truck bed coating. I picked up 4, 5/16 X 1 1/2" clamping bolts with the 3 sided plastic knob. I removed the two windshield hinge screws on each side and fastened my rig into them. Installation and removal is quick and easy. There's a little vibration at highway speeds, but quite tolerable to me. The total cost was around $20.

Double digits?

They keep posting in my local news and will take a full half an hour on reporting if it gets above 80..It has happened like 6 times this year.

110 F right now at 7:15 Tues eve. triple digits for OVER a month, straight. many "heat advisories"

You'ld be running at least a bikini top here, or full top & A/C

Like the mirrors, but "summer" has been here since early May - 90's and above with 80-90% humidity. And now there's another "High" settled over the area - August ain't lookin' too good. Can I send some of this your way Fed-Ex???

The jet stream is finally moving north, so we are in for upper 90s this weekend. Up until now, temps in the 80s in Northern Illinois were rare. I've got the rig stripped down to the basics as far as cover goes, so I'm counting on no cold or rain for a while. That's why I made the mirror brackets easy to put on/off, because I know around here, rain can ignore the forecasters.

I ignore the rain and just get wet.I hate having the roof on..When is that fed ex package coming with the heat?
