Cheap mirrors, open air and finally some summer weather
It was finally nice enough to put the half doors on and try out my idea for the outside mirrors. I picked up a pair of basic mirrors from Auto Zone, made brackets by flattening the ends of 3/4" conduit. I put a conduit clamp in the middle to allow for angle adjustments and painted them with truck bed coating. I picked up 4, 5/16 X 1 1/2" clamping bolts with the 3 sided plastic knob. I removed the two windshield hinge screws on each side and fastened my rig into them. Installation and removal is quick and easy. There's a little vibration at highway speeds, but quite tolerable to me. The total cost was around $20.
