Gas gauge not work

I just buy a YJ 92 and I discover that gas gauge is not working...it is stuck in 3 quarters... How can I repair that? Check if gauge is connected? Or the problem are in the gas tank? Great forum thanks in advance!

I'm leaning more towards the sending unit is stuck OR the needle on the gauge is stuck. If it didn't have any voltage on the signal side of the circuit, it should stay on zero and not move at all. If the gauge drops to zero with the key off and goes back to 3/4 with the key on, the sending unit would be the culprit.

can also drop the tank, (7 BOLTS) and manually move the float up and down while plugged in and KOEO, and watch and see if the gauge moves, if the gauge moves then the sending unit is bad. you can also do a resistance test on the sending unit and n the gauge itself. these problems can either be extremely easy to figure out or a huge pain to figure out! lol

i agree with steel, drop the tank and replace the sending unit!
