gas tank sprung a leak

hey everyone, today i was out filling the old girl up and the gas attendant pointed out i was pouring gas all over, so got a few questions for ya.
1. can i fix it? it is the 20 gallon plastic tank used from 87-90 is a 258 and if so, how?
2. if i cant fix it, can i replace it with the tank from a 4 cyl 91+ yj, and if so what all whould be involved in the swap?

I know I had a leak in my XJ but it wasn't the tank itself, it was the area around where the pump drops down into the tank. The seals were gone and I had to buy a new pump and accessories or so I remember.
