Hand throttle

Santa gave me a hand throttle for the XJ, and just wondering what is the best way to run the cable. I've heard of some people running it different ways. Wondering if I should just drill a hole in the firewall, or run it down the shift boot and out. (not sure if i've got enough cable.)

it's a 92 XJ with 5 speed and a 4.0

Ran mine down through the shifter boot, convenient and clean since the hand throttle is mounted to the shifter.
