Hey all, I went wheelin in the creek a few months ago and water got in my trans, so it's almost ready to die on me and i was talking to a few people and from what i hear a chevy trans can be put in it's place. i am not sure on what all i need to do this trans swap... I'm guessing a bell housing conversion and a new drive shaft for starters. but i was hoping someone in this forum has done this swap and could help me out with this.. like what all is involved.

Thanks.

Welcome to the Z.

I wouldn't bother, you'd need a conversion bellhousing as well as an adapter to mount your transfer case to the transmission. Be cheaper and easier to find a bolt-in transmission.

it's a 4.0l auto. the reason for the thoughts of a chevy trans in the jeep is cause from what i hear the stock jeep trans is weak. if its not a bad trans i will just put another one back in there. i'm not sure though
